Mod Description:

KSP is a game in which you, the player, create a spacecraft capable of leaving a planet to take you into space.  Currently coming a long for the ride are 3 little Kerbal characters – Bill Kerman, Jebediah kerman and Bob Kerman.

Creating your ship is simple, mastering is hard!

You can create any spacecraft you desire.  You can choose to use solid fuel busters or perhaps you prefer to go with a liquid fuel option.You can make your ship as tall or as wide as you wish, but remember it has to take off from the space center (unlike mine!).

Tip: Press the symmetry button (next to the parts bin) to keep your weight distribution balanced when adding pairs of rockets.

Once you’ve created your spacecraft it is off too the launch pad and with the press of the spacebar and a tweak of the throttle (shift & Ctrl) you’ll be on your way into space.

Using the controls you can pitch (w & s), yaw (a & d) and roll (q & e) your spacecraft to maintain the correct flight path.  If you fancy a more automated flight you can attach SAS modules and press ‘T’ to turn them on.

It worked (but did I attach a parachute?!).

Once you’ve stopped accelerating you’ll eventually start to descend (if everything has gone to plan!).  If you’ve remembered to attach one, your parachute automatically opens at 500m from the ground.

After landing (or crashing) you get a summary of the flight events and also giving you details such as total time, highest altitude and speed, distance and most Gee force endured.

So what can we look forward too in the future from Kerbal Space Program?

• Take on Missions to attract interest in your Space Program. Or use the Mission Planner to create your own missions.
• Manage your Space Program. Hire astronauts, train them, research and improve parts.
• Fly out to Moons and other Planets
• Build Space Stations, and surface bases on other worlds.
• And a whole lot more!

I personally can’t wait for all the above to happen.  It is going to be fantastic.
